Second-guessing EDs stunt the growth of donor communications
But for a thin crust of work, mostly written by expensive hired guns, donor communications are typically...well, clueless? Literally, they do not know what they are doing, a humble opinion based on evaluating thousands of comms from hundreds of organizations, of all types and sizes. Luckily, a little staff training can fix the problem. But a new problem frequently then joins the fray: a second-guessing executive director. The staff now knows what to do. But the ED won't permit it. Counter-productive? Obviously. Frustrating? Amazingly so. Demoralizing? You betcha. In my latest e-news, I give you a message you can show your boss. Let reason prevail?
